Forte Advanced Diesel Treatment
From the fuel tank to the DPF — Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment is a complete diesel injector cleaner and fuel system additive that cleans and maintains every critical component in your diesel fuel system in a single bottle added to a full tank.
Modern diesel engines are precision systems where every component depends on every other. The high pressure injection system atomises fuel at pressures of up to 2,000 bar — any contamination or deposit on the injector tip changes the spray pattern, changes combustion, increases soot production and changes exhaust composition.
That increased soot loads the DPF faster. The changed exhaust composition affects the EGR system. The contaminated EGR valve can no longer close properly during DPF regeneration, preventing exhaust temperatures from rising enough to burn off the soot. The DPF loads faster and regenerates less effectively — a progressive deterioration that started with a dirty injector.
Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment addresses the entire chain — cleaning injectors, maintaining the EGR valve, reducing combustion chamber deposits and supporting DPF regeneration in one treatment added to the fuel tank.
One bottle added to a full fuel tank travels through the entire diesel system treating all 10 critical components from tank to exhaust.
As the treated fuel travels through the system, the active formulation cleans deposits from every surface it contacts. Injector spray patterns are restored. Combustion chamber deposits are reduced. EGR valve cleanliness is maintained. The turbo boost valve is kept clean. And cleaner combustion means less soot reaching the DPF.
The product also increases diesel lubricity up to 46% — lubricating the high pressure pump, injectors and all moving fuel system components to reduce wear and extend their operating life.
DPF problems are almost always caused by what happens before the DPF. Dirty injectors produce poor spray patterns causing incomplete combustion — more soot reaches the DPF and loads it faster than normal. A contaminated EGR valve cannot close fully during regeneration, preventing exhaust temperatures from rising to the level needed to burn off the soot.
Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment addresses both. Clean injectors restore combustion quality, reducing soot production. A clean EGR valve closes correctly during regeneration, allowing exhaust temperatures to rise and regeneration to complete effectively.
For the best results with DPF issues use Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment alongside Forte DPF Cleaner & Regenerator — the Diesel Treatment fixes the upstream causes while the DPF Cleaner directly lowers the soot burn temperature to aid regeneration.
When diesel injectors clog with deposits they stop atomising fuel properly — combustion suffers, soot rises and the fuel system runs out of spec. Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment restores the injector spray pattern and cleans the fuel system. If you're seeing these alongside rough running, smoke or poor economy, dirty injectors are a likely contributor.
Seeing these on a diesel? Treatment works best as regular maintenance, before deposits build up enough to set codes. If a code persists after treatment, get the injectors and fuel system diagnosed. Ask Phil if unsure.
Add one bottle of Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment to a full fuel tank. As the engine runs the treated fuel travels through all 10 system components, cleaning and maintaining each one. No dismantling, no specialist equipment, no additional time.
Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment is the simplest way to maintain your entire diesel system — add to a full tank at every service. Free UK delivery.

Black smoke from a diesel exhaust usually means the engine is burning too much fuel for the air available, or the fuel is not being atomised cleanly. Dirty diesel injectors are a common contributor because a poor spray pattern leaves larger droplets of fuel in the cylinder. Those droplets burn late or incompletely, which creates soot, rough idle, hesitation under acceleration, higher DPF loading and a flat-feeling engine.
That is why diesel smoke, diesel misfire, diesel rough idle and hesitation under acceleration often appear together. The injector may still be electrically alive, but deposits around the nozzle can distort the spray enough to upset combustion. A sticking EGR valve can make the same pattern worse by changing the air mix and feeding more soot back into the inlet.
Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment is most relevant when the symptoms point to contamination rather than a broken part. It is added to a full fuel tank and is verified in the product facts as cleaning and maintaining the diesel fuel chain, including the fuel tank, high-pressure pump, pressure regulator, injectors, inlet valves, combustion chamber, exhaust valves, turbo boost valve, EGR valve and DPF/catalyst. It also increases diesel fuel lubricity by up to 46%, supporting the pump and injector system while the treated fuel is used.
Best fit: black or grey smoke, rough idle, poor throttle response, diesel hesitation and worsening economy caused by dirty injectors, poor spray patterns or EGR contamination.
Look for rough idle, diesel knock, uneven power delivery, extra smoke, poor economy and DPF warnings arriving sooner than expected. These are the symptoms most consistent with poor atomisation and dirty combustion.
Dirty combustion creates more soot upstream. Even if the DPF is not the original problem, it can become the visible warning because it has to trap the extra soot. For an already-loaded DPF, pair this treatment with Forte DPF Cleaner & Regenerator.
P0087 fuel rail pressure too low and P0088 fuel rail pressure too high mean the ECU is seeing fuel pressure outside its expected range. A dirty fuel system can contribute by upsetting injector delivery, rail control and the pressure regulator's working conditions, but these codes can also be caused by a restricted fuel filter, weak high-pressure pump, faulty rail pressure sensor, regulator fault or wiring issue.
P0201, P0202 and related P0201-P0204 injector circuit codes need extra caution. The word "circuit" usually means the ECU is unhappy with the electrical control side of an injector. A cleaner cannot repair an open circuit, short, broken loom or failed injector solenoid. Where the real problem is poor contribution from a contaminated nozzle, however, cleaning the fuel system can improve delivery and balance.
Use Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment when the code appears with classic dirty-combustion symptoms: black smoke, rough running, hesitation, injector noise or worsening fuel economy. It is a maintenance treatment for contamination and deposit-related fuelling problems, not a substitute for live data, leak-off testing or electrical checks when a code returns.
Can be contamination-related, but also check filter restriction, pump health, pressure regulation, leaks and rail-pressure sensor data if it persists.
Treatment may help if sticky deposits are affecting delivery quality, but a regulator, sensor or control fault needs diagnosis.
Useful only where the injector is dirty or sticking. Electrical circuit faults, wiring breaks and dead injectors are outside the scope of a fuel additive.
P0401 means the ECU believes exhaust gas recirculation flow is insufficient. On a diesel, the EGR valve works in a dirty environment and can become restricted or sticky as soot and carbon build up. Common EGR valve sticking symptoms include rough idle, hesitation, smoke, reduced power, engine-management lights, limp mode and DPF regeneration that becomes harder to complete.
Forte Advanced Formula Diesel Treatment is relevant because the verified product facts include EGR valve cleanliness as part of the 10-component diesel system path. Cleaner injectors improve combustion quality, which reduces the soot feeding the EGR system. A cleaner EGR valve is also important during DPF regeneration because it needs to close correctly so exhaust temperatures can rise.
This is not the same as saying every P0401 can be fixed from the fuel tank. If the EGR valve is heavily jammed, the cooler is blocked, the actuator has failed, a vacuum/position sensor fault is present, or the inlet is heavily coked, mechanical diagnosis and cleaning may still be needed. The treatment is best used as regular service maintenance, or early when smoke, rough idle and hesitation point to deposit build-up rather than a failed component.
Early soot-related symptoms, light EGR sticking, smoke after short-trip use, injector-related rough running and vehicles that need cleaner combustion before DPF regeneration.
Recurring P0401 after treatment, limp mode, live EGR position errors, severe inlet restriction, no boost, failed actuator movement or a DPF soot level already too high to regenerate normally.
